For the first time in forever, the Disney Wish offers two brand new locations where adults of all ages are invited to be pampered while sailing aboard the Disney Wish in addition to the popular kids Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover.
Three Areas to Be Pampered
With Disney’s recent announcement that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, it comes with no surprise that the popular experience is also on the Disney Wish. Believe it or not, long-ago makeovers at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were open to guests 12+. Disney quickly learned that the experience was quite popular for the adults, so they finally received their pampered area with beauty treatments, manicures, and pedicures.
Inspired by Captain Hook’s personal quarters aboard the famed Jolly Roger, this upscale barbershop provides grooming services fit for a captain. It is a completely brand-new experience for Disney Cruise Line! Want a more princess vibe? No problem! The new Untangled salon is fit for a princess complete with concept art and floating lantern lighting inspired by the Disney film Tangled.
Each unique salon offers a variety of packages and treatments and is one aspect of the Disney Wish that you will not want to miss!
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Makeover
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a dream come true for children ages 3-12 as it offers costumes with options for hairstyling and accessories. Princes and princesses will be pampered in such a royal way while sailing on the high seas!
After checking in, guests are introduced to their Fairy Godmothers in Training who will take them through their transformation. There is a plethora of costumes, accessories, makeup, tiaras and more to choose from! There is even the option to dress like Captain Mickey and Minnie!
The Disney Wish offers seven makeover packages and two accessory-only packages. Prices range from $99.95 to $450.00.
Face coverings are no longer required throughout the entire experience and the exciting part is that makeup is now being applied during the makeover! Prior to regulations being lifted, applicable packages that included a makeup palette was provided as a takeaway. However, the only makeover that has not been brought back are the Pirate Makeovers.
For this trip, my daughter experienced the Deluxe Carriage Package ($99.95) which included hairstyling, shimmering makeup palette and face gem, a princess sash, mini backpack, nail polish and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique T-shirt. The backpack is new and exclusive to the makeovers.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is located on Deck 4 of the Disney Wish. Appointments can be booked under “Onboard Fun” when guests are able to check into their cruise. This experience almost always sells out. However, do not worry, guests can visit the boutique while onboard to book appointments.
Hooks Barbery
Hooks provides haircuts, hot shaves and beard trimming, manicures, pedicures, and facials. Want to enjoy a drink during your treatment? Hooks has you covered! During treatments and special evening events the barbershop provides a hidden bar which offers specialty whiskey tastings for guests 21+.
A calm refuge tucked away from Senses Spa, Hook’s Barbery is designed for the utmost in relaxation—featuring heavy leather chairs, dark wood tones and deep grays, and drapery evoking Captain Hook’s own style.
Hooks is quite a masterpiece itself as even Peter Pan, Wendy and the Lost Boys would easily make themselves quite at home. The aesthetics focus on dark wood colors, leather chairs and golden mirrors. Captain Hook has quite the sophisticated taste for sure!
Leave to it Disney to bring in easter eggs from the film such as a wooden map of Neverland, a hidden pocket watch, a hook, and lanterns that occasionally magically come to life with lighting and audio effects of Tinker Bell flying from fixture to fixture.
Some tips before visiting Hooks Barbery: The cost of salon services is not included in the price of your cruise. An 18% gratuity will be added automatically to all spa services. Prices are subject to change without notice. To avoid a 50% cancellation fee, 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations. Guests diagnosed with cancer must obtain medical clearance from an oncologist (in the form of a doctor’s note) to partake in massage treatments for Hooks Barbery (and Untangled Salon).
Hooks Barbery is located on Deck 3 of the Disney Wish. Appointments can be booked under “Spa and Fitness” when guests are able to check into their cruise. Reservations for Hook’s Barbery can also be booked after 1:00 PM on the first day of the guest’s cruise on board the ship at the Barbery.
Untangled Salon
Let your power shine as guests are invited to yet another brand-new unique experience to the Disney Cruise Line. The variety of treatments that are available include: a braid bar, shampoo, cut, blow dry, blow dry and updo, and Nouveau LVL Enhance Lash Lift. Appointment times vary based on treatment type.
When entering the salon there is no doubt that the décor is inspired by Rapunzel, who also adorns the ship’s stern. The salon’s color schemes are purple and gold that are adorned with floating lantern fixtures. Additionally, Rapunzel herself incorporates her works of art as they adorn privacy screens. The chandelier is the piece de resistance which mimics the iconic flower from the animated film.

My Review
One of the wonderful aspects of both new salons is that guests regardless of gender can book at either locations. I witnessed an older man enjoying a pedicure at the Untangled Salon and I, myself, had booked my pedicure at Hooks.
One thing to keep in mind is that while checking into the cruise, both salons list that all treatments are intended for 18+. However, that information is incorrect as we learned when we inquired about my 13-year-old daughter. She was welcome to partake in treatments, and they were aware that it is listed otherwise during online check in and treatment bookings.
I would strongly recommend going to either salon on embarkation day and making an appointment for your pre-teen and teen. Guests can also use their stateroom phones to call the spa to book appointments.
This leads me to another interesting fun fact. All four Disney Cruise ships include a salon aboard with all the treatments that are offered on the Disney Wish. I learned during my pedicure that most people who visit the new salons had no idea that they are available on other ships!
However, the mind-blowing aspect is that one genius Imagineer made the decision to take them out of the spa area where the salon is hidden from private view. This makes it viewable to people walking past both salons that make the treatments so inviting. Pure genius!
Personally, I was very intrigued by Hooks Barbery, so I booked a fire and ice pedicure! ($59) It was quite the experience as my feet and legs were soothed with cooling gels and then warmed with a heated stone massage. Talk about a great way to relax at the beginning of our cruise! It was also $20 cheaper than receiving the same pedicure at the untangled Salon.
The cost of aromatherapy oils combined with the use of a decadent milk pedicure costs $79. The only downfall is that there was a mix up in my booking, and I received my treatment at the Untangled Salon and was charged for the amount at this particular salon. Guest Services apologized and I was charged the original treatment price.
Did I already mention the speakeasy bar located inside Hooks? During my treatment I was able to take my drink from Hooks into the Untangled Salon. The bartender does an elaborate presentation when creating an aromatic old fashion drink. I enjoyed this area so much that one evening my husband and I made it one of our stops during our date night to enjoy the ambience and a drink. The hidden bar inside Hooks serves bourbons, vintage whisky, port, aged rum and premium.
In regards to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, I did want to mention that quantities were low for the new backpacks and that they may not be available for each sailing. For example, during our back-to-back sailing, the backpacks were available throughout the first sailing but had run out during the second cruise. Kids were provided the traditional cinch bags instead.
Overall, all three locations, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Hooks and Untangled, are wonderful additions to the Disney Wish. Regardless of booking a treatment or package, I would highly recommend guests stop and visit each location to take in and appreciate their beauty and Disney touch!
