World Princess Week Will Add Its 13th New Disney Princess

What a better way to celebrate a full week of festivities during World Princess Week than welcoming a brand new Disney Princess!

Earlier this morning the Disney Company announced that World Princess Week will commence August 21st through the 27th. You can read more HERE about the treats and sips that will be coming to both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort.

80 years ago, the most fairest in the land, Snow White took her seat in Disney’s royal court as the first princess. Years later, as of 2022, 12 other princesses have joined her. They include: Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Mulan, Merida, Pocahontas, Rapunzel and Moana.

Next week will be a time to rejoice in the Disney kingdom as the thirteenth Disney Princess will join the royal court as part of the World Princess Week.

Raya and the Last Dragon

Raya and the Last Dragon was released in March 2021. The 59th Walt Disney Animation Studios, animated film featured voices of Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Izaac Wang, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim and many others.  The film became the third most streamed movie title as of 2021 and has grossed over $130 million worldwide.

Raya and the Last Dragon is about the titular warrior princess, Raya. She seeks out the fabled last dragon, hoping to restore the dragon gem that would bring back her father and banish the evil spirits known as the Druun from the land of Kumandra.

Therefore, it seems appropriately fitting that Raya become an official Disney Princess. Announcements regarding her proper coronation will soon be announced as World Princess Week is just around the corner!
