Guests traveling to the Magic Kingdom will want to take note of current construction. Will this affect your next trip to the Magic Kingdom?
Traveling throughout Walt Disney World
There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting. The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE and many questions revolve around which is the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
From the Skyliner, buses, ferry boats, and of course the monorail there are many options for Resort Guests to arrive at each of the Walt Disney World Parks. Choosing the fastest and most efficient form of transportation is key to a peaceful visit. You can see a full review of each form of Disney transportation HERE.
Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resorts may find walking as their best form of transportation to select parks. Unfortunately, new construction will limit guests staying at the Grand Floridian.
New Construction
Guests staying at the beautiful Grand Floridian can enjoy a short walk to enter the Magic Kingdom. Recently, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa received a walking path of its own.
The Grand Floridian Walkway stretches approximately .7 miles between the resort hotel and the Magic Kingdom. Most guests can complete the walk in about 15 minutes or less. This is a great option if lines for both the monorail and boat transportation are long.
Unfortunately, this walkway is now blocked due to construction. We saw a “Do Not Enter” sign posted along this walkway earlier today. After the first bridge, a construction wall is in place. At this time Walt Disney World has not announced a refurbishment of this walkway, and it is unknown how long this may be blocked.
The walkway from Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom is currently blocked with construction walls in place.
If you are staying at the Grand Floridian, you will need to be aware that this may affect your transportation plans to the Magic Kingdom.
