If you are staying at Walt Disney World, you might be wondering how this affects transportation. Here is the latest update.
Hurricane Ian
By now you have probably heard that Hurricane Ian is closing down Walt Disney World. News of the closure broke earlier today. We also know that soon it will be impossible to fly into MCO and other airports in the storm’s path.
We have been working hard to provide you updates as Hurricane Ian moves closer to the Florida coastline. Susan provided an update as we found out that Orange county, and the surrounding counties, were placed under a Tropical Cyclone Watch/Warning.
Closures and park updates
Earlier today, we received even more news regarding multiple theme park closures throughout the state of Florida, including Legoland, Universal Orlando, Sea World and lastly Walt Disney World. All theme parks will be preparing to close in light of Hurricane Ian.
Further updates regarding partially used tickets and special events, like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party were also shared. Read about that HERE.
Transportation
Disney has provided guests regarding transportation as well. Here is what you need to know:
- Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating Tuesday night after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close.
- Limited Minnie Van and Mears taxi service will be offered to Walt Disney World resort Guests with existing breakfast reservations.
Yesterday, we shared that Disney’s Skyliner was also temporarily closed. With the recent conditions, it would seem pretty obvious that this form of transportation will not be up and running anytime soon. We will continue to keep you updated as news is shared. We hope everyone stays safe!
