Star Wars fans will want to check out the newest price increase coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You will now need extra credits to bring home this favorite souvenir.

Price Increases

Price increases have become the norm over the last year. They have always been around, but it seems everything is much more expensive throughout this year.

At Disney World, we saw price increases for almost everything. From annual passes to day tickets, we are paying more for a Disney vacation. There are some savvy ways to save money like renting DVC points and sharing meals, but some things cannot be avoided. We have seen big price increases in dining experiences at the Magic Kingdom and at meals where character dining has returned.

We now see a new price increase coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

At the Droid Depot in Hollywood Studios, guests are invited to assemble their own custom-made droid, “one of the galaxy’s most indispensable sidekicks.” This is a unique experience where Guests can choose to either build a BB-series or an R-series.

You can check out a full review HERE and a review from a child’s perspective HERE. Previously the price for this experience was $99.99, plus tax. The cost includes the following:

  • carry box and instructions
  • personality-affiliation chips and other accessories available for an additional charge
  • if you want a backpack to carry your droid in, those are $49.99 (backpacks are eligible for an Annual Pass discount).

We now see a rather significant price increase for this experience. This price has now jumped to $119.99 per astromech droid unit, plus tax. This still includes the same items listed above but at a higher price tag.

This is such a fun experience for both the young and the young at heart, but this price increase is quite disappointing. Guests with upcoming reservations for the Droid Depot will want to be aware that this is an immediate price increase.
