Are you ready to climb aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad? We are now closer than ever! Check out the current progress that has been made.
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since the end of 2018, as a result of the construction of the highly anticipated TRON attraction.
Many Guests have commented that the 50th Anniversary celebration at the Magic Kingdom just isn’t the same without the Walt Disney Railroad. Walt Disney loved trains, and it is only fitting that each Disney Park has a train that Guests can enjoy.
Reopening Date Set
Testing for the railroad has been SEEN and HEARD several times, but the railroad will likely not reopen until this spring with the opening of TRON. Construction updates of both the railroad track and water tower have neared completion. We were also hopeful for the Railroad’s return when Disney shared that they are welcoming back Cast Members for TRAINing!
You can read about this exciting development and see more pictures of the construction in this post HERE. This photo was taken earlier this year.
Many Walt Disney World guests have shared they anticipate the reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad more than the opening date for Tron.
As we were visiting the Magic Kingdom earlier today, we checked out the current progress of the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks. This photo was taken near the Fantasyland train station near Storybook Circus. It appears that work is currently taking place on these tracks.
Currently, there is still track missing from part of Storybook Circus and heading into Tomorrowland. At this time Walt Disney World has not yet announced when the Walt Disney World Railroad will reopen.
