Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend
Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend is a unique runDisney event! This is the only runDisney Weekend that offers an After Party! What better way to celebrate your accomplishment than celebrating with your friends, family and fellow runners at EPCOT! Runners and guests can enjoy festival booths after the park has closed for regular day guests. Post-Race Party Guests can enter the park starting at 5 p.m.
Check out all the Post-Race Party has to offer, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with no Virtual Queue, HERE. runDisney has just released the Digital Event Guide which includes the course maps! Check out the Digital Event Guide HERE.
5K Course Map
The 5K is a fun course where you can run around World Showcase! I love that they keep the majority of this race in the park!
10K Course Map
The Wine and Dine 10K starts and finishes in EPCOT too, but you also get to venture over to Hollywood Studios. I always think it’s a lot of fun when you can do multiple parks with these races.
Half Marathon Course Map
This NEW Half Marathon course looks like a lot of fun! This course has SEVERAL BIG changes! The first big change is it’s starting location. This race used to start in the Magic Kingdom Parking lot and finish at EPCOT.
Now you will start and finish your race near EPCOT. You will also start your race by running around the World Showcase versus running this portion at the end.
Then you venture to Hollywood Studios where you will run through Galaxy’s Edge! I know I’m excited to run through this new land. Unfortunately, after you leave Hollywood Studios there is A LOT of highway to cover before heading back to EPCOT.
The Half Marathon does not run through Animal Kingdom like it has in years past. This is ANOTHER BIG CHANGE! However, you do get a double dip in EPCOT. This Half Marathon would be a favorite for many runners as it used to have you run through THREE parks. I wonder if the new course will still be a favorite.
The Half Marathon has a new starting location at EPCOT and will NOT go through Animal Kingdom. However, you will get to run through Galaxy’s Edge and a double dip in EPCOT!
Even though there are many highway miles during the second half of the course, I’m sure runDisney will have lots of entertainment and characters out! I can’t wait to see who will be there!
What do you think of this course change? Do you like the new course? Will you be running any of the races during Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend? Let us know on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page, too!
