Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom this morning enjoyed a special show. Check out the full details and see the pictures below.
Honoring our Military
Walt Disney World prides itself in honoring our military and armed forces all year long. You might have seen the flag ceremonies at Walt Disney World and Disneyland that take place each day. You can read more about those HERE. Each day an active duty service member or veteran can participate.
Not only that, but Disney offers military discounts to veterans and their families for Walt Disney World and Disneyland. There is even a hotel on the property for families to stay at called Shades of Green. If you are not familiar with that resort, take a look at Monica’s review HERE.
Did you know that November is National Veterans and Military Families month? Disney has decided to honor the special month in a big way! Earlier this week Disney stated, “As part of Disney’s enduring respect for those who serve in the military and their families, we are hosting a flyover over Magic Kingdom Park by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration team on Thursday, October 27 to mark the arrival of National Veterans and Military Families Month in November.”
Special Filming
This morning, guests noticed that special crews were in place to film this special event. Also attending the special presentation is the Magic Kingdom Vice-President, Melissa Valiquette.
At 9:30 am the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds did the first of two passes over the park culminating in their famous delta maneuver where they pass over the castle accelerating rapidly in different directions giving the appearance of a fireworks display. Check out this photo from the first pass.
The second pass took place a few moments later. These photos are absolutely breathtaking.
This is such a beautiful tribute to our military. Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom this morning witnessed such a beautiful demonstration.
