Disney previously offered FastPass+ for the nightly showings of Fantasmic! But, how will they handle the crowds with Genie+?
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is a nighttime show performed at Disneyland, Hollywood Studios, and Tokyo DisneySea. The premise of the show is that Mickey is transported into a dream where he dances along with music, lighting effects, and pyrotechnics. Various characters and scenes from popular Disney movies are part of the sequence as well.
The show takes a bad turn as Mickey is asked to enter the darker realms of his imagination. Maleficent turns out to be the mastermind behind the trap as she wishes to take over Mickey’s dream. Various villains are part of this sequence as he fights the evil dragon.
The show is wildly popular, even before the park closure. The show has been dark for almost 3 years, and Guests are definitely ready to see it.
How to see the show
Disney already announced dining packages for the show. With a package, you get a meal at one of Hollywood Studios’ select restaurants plus a reserved section of the theater to view the show. You can see pricing and more details in this post.
Previously, Disney offered FastPass+ for Fantasmic! which meant you did not have to wait in long standby lines or risk getting a “bad” seat. Disney does still have the FastPass+ kiosks up, but they are covered.
Will Disney offer Lightning Lane for Fantasmic!? It does not seem likely, not at this time anyway. The showtime is listed on the Tip Board, but there is no Lightning Lane access. It is possible it may show up later today, or maybe Disney will offer it when the show bumps down to one performance per day.
Right now, your only option will be to wait in the standby line or book a dining package. If you utilize Disney’s Accessibility Service, double check with a Cast Member to see how to go about viewing the show.
Lightning Lane access is not available for Fantasmic! at this time.
