Every year Disney hosts various holiday specials on television. They are a great way to bring some Disney Magic into your home during these special dates. A lot of preparation goes into these specials because there are parades, celebrity performances, and more. Filming takes place at Disney World and Disneyland.

Holiday filming was set to take place this week, November 11th through November 13th, for “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration.”

It is important to note that many entertainment options were altered for this filming and higher crowds are anticipated.

Unfortunately, holiday filming is cancelled for these dates. With Hurricane Nicole in Florida right now, the parks and resorts are not operating as normal. The parks closed early yesterday, November 9 and did not reopen until 12:00 pm today, November 10.

We are happy to hear Disney World did not lose power and there is minimal debris in the area. While we cannot say for sure why the filming sessions are cancelled this week, we can only assume it has something to do with Hurricane Nicole.

If you were registered for this event or were hoping to pass by it during your visit to Magic Kingdom, we are sorry to share this update. Hopefully Disney can get another date on the calendar soon, but celebrity schedules and other arrangements will need to be made first.

Holiday filming set for November 11-13 is cancelled.

Will you be visiting Walt Disney World on these dates? Were you hoping to enjoy special entertainment for this filming or did you plan to avoid the parks? Are you bummed to hear this news? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
