Disney headliners fail to open this morning at EPCOT

Guests visiting EPCOT this holiday weekend are shocked at which rides are currently unavailable. Where would you even start if these rides were down on your day at EPCOT?

Ride Closures

You have the best touring plans in place, and you are at the park for a rope drop only to discover that your top attractions are closed. Disney World rides close all the time. Severe weather, mechanical or technical malfunctions, and Guests doing the wrong thing can all shut an attraction down. 

Oftentimes, the ride reopens when the weather passes or the issue gets fixed. However, sometimes it can also lead to a multi-day closure. Ride closures not only affect that attraction but create a ripple effect as well. Higher wait times can be seen at other park attractions as guests scramble to revamp their touring plans.

Guests visiting the Disney Parks must make a Park Reservation and commit to which park they will visit and cannot hop to another park (with a park hopper ticket) until 2:00 pm. This creates frustration when multiple attractions experience downtime.

EPCOT’s Rough Start

Today is the start of the Festival of the Holidays at EPCOT and many guests rushed to this park to experience the many festive offerings. Unfortunately, two of the biggest attractions at EPCOT had a rough start.

Guests visiting EPCOT heard an overhead announcement that both Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After were temporarily closed. Unsurprisingly, this can create a major hiccup for guests visiting EPCOT. Many guests make the mad dash towards France at park opening to shrink down to the size of a rat aboard Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

This attraction finally opened at around 8:50 am with a staggering 100-minute wait. Frozen Ever After is still marked as temporarily closed at the time of this writing. With large crowds visiting Walt Disney World for the holiday weekend, this will inevitably create a few hiccups for guests today.

Both Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After failed to open earlier this morning.
