You have the best touring plans in place, and you are at the park for a rope drop only to discover that your top attractions are closed. Disney World rides close all the time. Severe weather, mechanical or technical malfunctions, and Guests doing the wrong thing can all shut an attraction down.

The Thanksgiving holiday week and weekend have been a busy one at Walt Disney World. This has been met with high wait times and outrageous price increases for Disney Genie+. Unfortunately, this week and weekend have also been met with attraction closures and evacuations.

On Thanksgiving evening, guests were evacuated from Splash Mountain. The following morning two big headliners at EPCOT failed to open at park opening. Once Remy reopened, the wait time was 100 minutes and remained high throughout the day.

Today, another attraction was affected by a temporary ride closure that lasted all day. Over at Magic Kingdom, guests hoping to set sail on a swashbuckling voyage to a long-forgotten time and place were disappointed. Pirates of the Caribbean has not opened at all today.

Now, guests are receiving this notification, “Pardon the Inconvenience: on behalf of the entire of the entire team at Magic Kingdom Park, I’d like to apologize that Pirates of the Caribbean is currently unavailable.”
