Are you in the parks and can’t find Olaf?! Here are all the answers to the 2022 Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays.
Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition
Guests are able to go on a scavenger hunt throughout the World Showcase at this year’s Festival of the Holidays! You will be hunting for holiday traditions gathered (and maybe even lost) by Olaf. You can purchase your map and stickers ($9.99 plus tax) from select Festival merchandise locations. These locations include Creations Shop, Port of Entry, and World Traveler at International Gateway.
To complete the scavenger hunt, you will use the stickers and mark the “traditions” that Olaf has found at each pavilion. Once complete (or not, it’s up to you!), bring the map to any of the above shops redeem your holiday keepsake.
Sometimes hunting for any of the clues at these Epcot festivals can be a little too time consuming. Or, maybe you have some impatient children who want to find Olaf right now. For more tips on how to do Epcot festivals with kids, read my guide HERE.
Do not fear! I hunted Olaf down for you at each pavilion.
Spoiler ahead! I do share locations and photos! Do not go any further if you don’t want to know! I am also including a little information about the tradition Olaf is paired with in each pavilion. You can skip all the way to the end of this post to see this year’s prize selection.
Mexico
Olaf with a poinsettia is located on a balcony near La Hacienda de San Angel. Festival poinsettias are presented in striking arrangements to celebrate the holidays.
Norway
Check on top of the grassy roof near the Norway restrooms to find Olaf with a straw decoration. Goats, made of straw, guard Christmas trees as the holidays draw nearer!
China
In China, check across from Lotus Blossom Cafe near the water. You will see Olaf with two red floating lanterns. Floating lanterns fill the night skies, marking the beginning of the new year.
Germany
Olaf and a jar of candy canes peek out from inside a window in the Germany pavilion. Check near Der Teddybar to find him! The first ever candy canes are said to have been given as gifts from a choirmaster.
Italy
In the Italy Pavilion, look for Olaf and a panettone at the Gelateria Toscana along the promenade. Many bakers prepare a zesty fruitcake called panettone as a delectable holiday treat.
America Gardens Theater
There are two Olafs to find in the American Adventure pavilion! The first is right across from the theater on the roof of the Fife & Drum Tavern. Appropriately enough, he has carol music sheets! Children of all ages ring in the most joyous time of the year by singing cherished carols.
The American Adventure
The second Olaf is located at the base of the Christmas tree across from the American Holiday Table. The seven days of Kwanzaa are celebrated with seven candles to symbolize struggle, hope, and the people of Africa. He is posing with a kinara.
Japan
Walk towards the back of the Japan pavilion to find Olaf and with festive kagami mochi, which is made from rice. You will find him in the little garden near Teppan Edo.
Morocco
Olaf is hiding with an olive branch in a garden next to Tangierine Cafe. December is the time to give thanks for the harvest with a lively olive festival!
L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen
Located in between Morocco and France, you can find Olaf and a dreidel on top of the holiday kitchen booth. Many families celebrate Hanukkah by playing with four-sided spinning tops, called dreidels.
France
In winter, many families place Yule logs on the hearth to bring good luck, as they cozy up around the fire place. You can find Olaf and a couple Yule logs in France in the garden at the front of the pavilion.
United Kingdom
Look next to the giant tea cup near Yorktown Fish and Chips to find Olaf in the United Kingdom Pavilion. He is posing with with some holiday crackers. Around many dinner tables, holiday crackers “explode” to reveal festive surprises!
Canada
Finally, we have reached the end of the hunt! Olaf with a gingerbread is looking out over the little pond in Canada. Young and old delight in baking and decorating sugary gingerbread cookies.
The prizes
As I mentioned earlier, it does not matter if you “complete” the hunt. You will still receive your prize! When you purchase the hunt, the Cast Member may even ask if you like to pick it out right then and there.
For this year’s Festival of the Holidays scavenger hunt prizes, choose from three Frozen pouches. There is a blue Olaf one, a purple Anna and Elsa one, and a green Sven one.
Enjoy your prize and hunting around the World Showcase!
