Weather Advisory now in place at Walt Disney World

Let’s be honest, no one hopes that they will encounter rain on vacation. Disney tries to make even a rainy day a bit more magical with special Rainy Day Cavalcades, but it can still put a damper on your best-laid touring plans.

A large storm system has been causing major problems for much of the country. This has caused travel delays and big changes for many people.

Yesterday, we shared that a major storm system would affect Walt Disney World today. The projected map showed that this weather pattern may cause concern around 8:00 am today.

Now a tornado watch has been issued for all of Central Florida which includes Walt Disney World. The tornado watch is currently issued until 4:00 pm (ET) on December 15th.

This watch includes, “strong to severe storms with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, a tornado or two, small hail, and heavy rainfall.” At this time, Walt Disney World has not altered hours of operations or changes to the entertainment schedule.

Now a tornado watch has been issued for all of Central Florida which includes Walt Disney World. The tornado watch is currently issued until 4:00 pm (EST) on December 15th.

Many outdoor attractions are affected by rain and thunderstorms. If you are visiting Walt Disney World today, be sure to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see if any outdoor attractions are temporarily closed due to weather.
