Pool Refurbishments

Refurbishment is an often dreaded word around the Disney Parks. From time to time our favorite attractions are closed for a minor or sometimes major refurbishment.

While Guests prepare for upcoming Disney vacations, much time is devoted to selecting the perfect Resort and dining locations for their trip. What Guests may not always consider are current refurbishments scheduled for their Disney Resort. As temperatures become lower in Central Florida, we will begin to see many upcoming pool refurbishments scheduled. It is not uncommon for many pools and pool features to be refurbished during the winter months.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of the Deluxe resorts on Walt Disney World property. Guests also have the convenience of being able to take Disney’s monorail to and from the theme parks and other monorail resorts.

It is one of my (Maggie) favorite resorts to stay in during a trip. You can read about the brand new Moana rooms of the resort in my post HERE. KtP writer, Joe also enjoys staying here and often has a lot of great resort updates. Check out the latest December recreational activities available for guests HERE.

The Lava pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of the major feature pools. The Lava Pool water slide at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed for refurbishment beginning Jan. 3, 2023. Guests hoping to swim in the Lava Pool will have no reason to worry, because the pool will remain open while refurbishment is being completed on the slide.

The Lava Pool water slide at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed for refurbishment beginning Jan. 3, 2023.

The Oasis Pool will also be available for use during this time. The water slide is expected to reopen sometime in early February.

Do you have a future trip planned at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort? Will the water slide being closed affect any of your plans? Tell us in the comments below or on our Facebook page.
