What do you think of this expansion for Universal? Will you be visiting when they open?
Texas Project
Going to Universal Studios makes you feel like you’re watching your favorite TV shows and movies, only with extra thrills, turns, and drops. Not only that, but guests face villains and help save the earth!
Now they will be expanding their theme parks. The new park will reside in Frisco (part of North Texas) with the proposed location east of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway.
Universal Parks shares that the demographic is a bit different for this park. This new park will be designed for younger children.
“Universal Parks & Resorts announces a one-of-a-kind theme park, unlike any other in the world, specifically designed to inspire fun for families with young children. The new park concept, set in a lush green landscape and featuring immersive themed lands, celebrates Universal’s iconic brand of entertainment, humor, and innovation and brings to life its beloved characters and stories in ways that will wow even the youngest theme park goers.“
“The proposed park will be designed to be more intimate and engaging for younger audiences and will be sized for a regional audience. It will be full of family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, character meet and greets, unique merchandise and fun food and beverage venues. Although smaller in size, it will still carry the same quality as Universal’s other larger resort destinations.“
At this time the plan is for a 97-acre to be home to this new project. This will include a theme park, eventually a themed hotel, and offer future expansion. There is no timeline set for this project, but this sounds like a great way for guests to enjoy the experience of Universal a little closer to home.

Las Vegas Project
If you want to enjoy Halloween Horror Nights you are in luck. This is the World’s Premiere Halloween Event and has quite the following. Now guests can enjoy this event more than once a year. Universal is looking to create a “year-round, horror-focused destination.” This 110,000-square-foot theme park will be located in the Area15 entertainment district in Las Vegas.
