This may just be the worst dish at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts

EPCOT is known for many great culinary dishes, but this dish was less than appetizing. You may want to save your money and skip it during your next trip to EPCOT.

EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts is here now through February 20, 2023. From dozens of food and beverage items to fun photos and a special light show on Spaceship Earth. This is a guest favorite festival that allows you to truly be immersed in so many varieties of art including trying your hand at chalk art.

Be sure to check out everything NEW for this year’s festival. You can also find all of the menus for the many food locations HERE. One of the best parts of EPCOT’s festivals is trying all of the different food from various food booths around the World Showcase. Be sure to check out these great food reviews from this festival:

After sharing so many great food reviews, we, unfortunately, discovered a less-than-delicious menu option. The Moderne booth is new to the festival and is located near Test Track in Future World. Last year this location was home to the Donut Box.

I (Donna) couldn’t wait to try the Angry Crab at Moderne. After reading Katie’s glowing review of the Pan-Seared Scallops from Moderne, I was even more excited to try this dish.

The Angry Crab is described as a Whole Crispy Soft-Shell Crab with Green Papaya Salad, Mango-Sriracha Fluid Gel, Coconut-Lime Foam with Pomegranate, and Mango Crush Pearls.

I would like to preface this by saying that I am a BIG seafood fan and love crab, but the flavoring and consistency of this dish made it difficult to enjoy. The crab legs were a little too crispy while the center of the crab was quite mushy. I tried several bites and eventually found a saving grace with the green papaya salad.

This salad was quite refreshing, but even paired with the crab it could not save this dish. Perhaps this was just a bad day, but I think this will be a big pass for me during the next EPCOT festival.
