Big delays now affect traffic around Walt Disney World due to a traffic accident. Find out the full details and see the alternate routes now in place.
Walt Disney World Transportation
Transportation around Walt Disney World is a bit complicated at times. Many Guests wonder if it is quicker to drive themselves or to use Disney transportation.
This depends upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will visit. The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE and many questions revolve around the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
Of course, this transportation becomes even more complicated at times. Last week, the Disney Skyliner was closed for an annual refurbishment. Additional buses will be available at the Skyliner Resorts to allow Guests transportation to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
Also, a huge power outage affected the Walt Disney World monorail on both Friday night and the majority of Saturday. This led to a very congested exit from the parks for many guests.
Traffic Delays
This morning, February 1, 2023, at about 5:00 am (ET), a large tractor-trailer overturned west near World Drive. This crash immediately closed 1-4 west. Full details have not been released regarding the details of this traffic accident.
According to News 6 in Orlando, the emergency teams worked for an hour to help remove the driver from this tractor-trailer. News 6 Mornings traffic safety expert, “Trooper Steve” Montiero continues to share traffic updates via Twitter.
An alternate route is now in place. Drivers can take the exit to World Drive but stay in the left lane. You will then reenter 1-4 west. Drive with caution in this area and expect delays.
