This delay has us very excited! Will this affect your next trip to Walt Disney World?

Refurbishment is a dreaded word for Disney fans who will soon be visiting Disney Parks. In theory, we all understand that refurbishments are a necessary part of keeping each Park magical. However, it is sad when one of your favorite attractions or even resort pools is affected by an extended refurbishment. It is even more troubling when multiple attractions are all affected in the same period.

Refurbishment work continues at Walt Disney World Resorts including Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and also the Grand Floridian. Some attractions close completely such as Splash Mountain as this attraction is rethemed to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Now a scheduled refurbishment is delayed and we couldn’t be happier.

Back in December, we shared that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would begin a rather lengthy refurbishment. This was set to begin today. Disney did not give an exact reopening date. However, the closure is expected to last into the summer of 2023.

Guests visiting for this busy holiday weekend will be able to enjoy Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for at least one more day. The My Disney Experience app shows this coaster is open and ready to rock.

Information is included regarding the upcoming refurbishment: “Beginning February 21, 2023, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will be temporarily closed for refurbishment. This rocktastic attraction will resume its super-stretch limo rides in summer 2023.”

At this time we are unsure why this refurbishment was delayed, but this is a great surprise for guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today.

What do you think of this delay? Do you think this may be due to large crowds for the holiday weekend? Will this refurbishment affect your upcoming trips to Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
