Disney confirmed several new character meet and greets for Figment, Mirabel, and Moana! Unfortunately, however, that means one is leaving the Magic Kingdom.
Moana
Typically, Moana is only out for special events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In fact, we were able to meet her at the Christmas party in 2022! Now she will have a more permanent spot in Animal Kingdom.
Beginning April 22, Moana will greet fellow voyagers on Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park – just in time for the park’s 25th anniversary.
Hopefully this means we will hear more about the Blue Sky Project announced at the D23 event last year!
Mirabel
We have seen Mirabel at Disneyland, in the Adventure Friends Cavalcade, and “training” over at Epcot. We even speculated she may be making a grand arrival to the Magic Kingdom.
At Magic Kingdom Park this fall, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film “Encanto” will greet guests in Fairytale Garden surrounded by whimsical décor inspired by La Familia Madrigal.
The space where Merida currently meets will be redesigned for Mirabel. This means Merida will officially leave her home next to Cinderella Castle. Hopefully she will still meet somewhere else in the park!
Figment
Fans of Figment will get the chance to hug the long-time EPCOT icon at the Imagination! pavilion beginning late summer. We heard last year he would be arriving at some point in 2023, and Disney has confirmed the timeline for this meet and greet.
In addition, Mickey Mouse and friends will have a new home at Communicore Hall later this year. Concept art for Communicore can be seen above and below.
What do you think of these new meet and greets? Are you sad that Merida is leaving her spot in Magic Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below and share this post with a fellow character loving Disney fan!
