This big change will help even more guests to be able to enter the grid. What do you think of this change?
TRON Soft Opening
Magic Kingdom is set to officially open the newest attraction Tron Lightcycle Run on April 4, 2023. Be sure to check out the height requirements for this attraction and also a locker system for loose items.
There will also be a unique attraction photo that you will not want to miss. You can also see great new merchandise for this attraction and the new snack location for this area HERE.
Big Change for Guests
Last week, Disney shared that they will begin a “soft opening” for this attraction. This started on Monday, March 20th (be sure to check out full dates for this soft opening HERE.) We were a bit surprised by the limited operating hours for this “soft opening.” The limited hours and the high demand for this attraction created shocking results with the virtual queues.
Now we have great news for guests visiting Magic Kingdom today, the operating hours for the “soft opening” are now extended. Previously, TRON closed at 6:00 pm, but Disney is now extending this until 7:30 pm.
This is great news for guests hoping to enjoy this attraction either through the virtual queue or by purchasing the Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction. It is possible that operating hours may be adjusted again if this “soft opening” continues to go smoothly.
The operating hours for the “soft opening” are now extended until 7:30 pm starting today.
What do you think of the soft opening of TRON? Do you hope to enjoy this attraction before the official opening on April 4th? Would you be willing to pay for an Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction or will you try the virtual queue? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section.

While Virtual Queue and Lightning Lane sure does make life easier at the parks the extra costs are outrageous. I much prefer the Express Pass at Universal which is also a money grab but much more useful. Lightning Lane for a family of 4 can easily exceed $100 for just one ride. Come on now that’s nuts. Virtual queue is cheaper but fills up quickly so you have to be on the ball when using Genie Plus. When my last visit to Disney the only way I was able to get on Cosmic Rewind was Lightning Lane. Dishing out an extra $48 for two was a bit infuriating. I have been to Disney and Universal several times and by far my last visit back in October of this year was the most expensive ever and that’s even with having a timeshare. Air, car rental and park prices have skyrocketed. Just getting into Disney with the reservation system was like jumping through hoops. The whole experience has become a bit annoying to say the least. If you are planning a trip you best consider your budget as it can get out of hand very quickly.
