Themes Just Released For This Popular Disney Weekend

Disney has some fun events throughout the year. This one popular weekend is the biggest of them all, and the themes have just been announced.

runDisney has FOUR race weekends at Walt Disney World and will soon bring races back to Disneyland. I (Heather) can’t wait for these races to return, and I am not alone. They sold out in record time!

Marathon Weekend

Marathon Weekend consists of four individual races and two challenges. Races include a 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon. The challenges are the Goofy Challenge (completing the half marathon and full marathon) and the Dopey Challenge (completing the 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon).

Marathon Weekend runs from January 3-7 2024. With the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo started on the 3rd and the first race (the 5K) starting the 4th.

Registration for this weekend is opening soon – April 11th at 10am to be exact for general registration! With this registration right around the corner runDisney has given us a look at what next year’s race themes will look like. I can’t wait!

5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Full

The 5K will have Pluto to be your “best friend” as you race through a 3.1-mile adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Club runDisney Gold and Platinum Registration begins April 4, 2023.
General Registration opens April 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM ET.

Registration fee varies based on the date of purchase:

April 11, 2023 – October 16, 2023: $107.99
October 17, 2023: $117.99

Prices include a 6.6% platform service fee.

Go nuts navigating 6.2 miles (10K) with everyone’s favorite chipmunks, Chip and Dale.

Goofy and Dopey Challenge

With the Goofy Challenge you will need to complete both the Half Marathon and the full Marathon. With this you will earn:

Walt Disney World Half Marathon Medal
Walt Disney World Marathon Medal
Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge Medal

That’s a grand total of 3 medals and 39.3 miles across all four parks!

You’ll need to register for the Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, which includes both races, in order to be eligible for the challenge medal.

General Registration opens April 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM ET.

Registration fee varies based on the date of purchase:

April 11 – October 16, 2023: $432.00
October 17, 2023: $442.00

Prices include a 6.6% platform service fee.

With the Dopey Challenge you must complete all 4 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend races to earn:

4 Individual Events Medals
Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge Medal
Dopey Challenge Medal

That’s a grand total of 6 Medals and 48.6 miles in one weekend!

You’ll need to register for the Dopey Challenge, which includes all 4 races, in order to be eligible for the challenge medals.

April 11 – October 16, 2023: $672.00
October 17, 2023: $683.00

Reminders

Remember, you must sign up for a challenge in order to receive the challenge medal. The challenges will include each of the races listed in that specific challenge.

Finally, if you want to do any of these races, you must be ready when they open for registration. These races sell out quickly (usually within minutes to hours)!
