Since the phased reopening of the theme parks, park reservations have been required for all four theme parks. Although Disney makes more park passes available at times, it’s a good idea to secure them as soon as you book your vacation. This is especially important during busier times of the year.

Earlier we shared that some guests were blocked for a few key dates at the Magic Kingdom. This included the return of Happily Ever After on April 3rd and the official opening of TRON on April 4th. Recently we shared that Annual Passholders could once again make Park Reservations for April 4th, but we encouraged guests to act fast to secure their Park Reservations.

The first part of April is an important one at Magic Kingdom. Many guests are still visiting for their spring break vacations. Soft openings continue to take place at TRON Lightcycle Power for April 1st and 2nd. April 3rd offers the big return of the Happily Ever After nighttime show.

Of course, many Disney guests can’t for the official opening of TRON on April 4th. Magic Kingdom is truly a highly sought-after park for the month of April.

Now it appears that guests without Park Reservations for Magic Kingdom may be out of luck. Currently, Park Reservations are unavailable for ALL ticket types at Magic Kingdom for the following dates: April 1st through April 8th. This includes ALL Annual Passholders.

For guests with Theme Park Tickets and those with Walt Disney Resort stays these dates are also blocked for the Magic Kingdom as well as April 10th.

Park Hopping

The good news is that if you have a Park Hopper option, you may book a Park Reservation at another park and hop over to Magic Kingdom after 2:00 pm. This will affect guests hoping to join a virtual queue for TRON (more on this HERE), but guests can still purchase an Individual Lightning Lane to enjoy TRON after park hopping.

Currently, Park Reservations are unavailable for ALL ticket types at Magic Kingdom for the following dates: April 1st through April 8th.

Disney states that park hopping may be unavailable if a park is at capacity, but this has not been an issue in the past. We are hopeful that park hopping will be available at Magic Kingdom even with Park Reservations being unavailable.

What do you think of the Park Reservation system? Do you think the Park Reservations should be removed? Will this affect your future travel plans? Share your comments below.
