Disney must complete refurbishments to keep operations running smoothly. This Disney pool is finally open after a lengthy refurbishment!
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Fort Wilderness Campground is commonly known as “The Fort.” The campsites are in a category of their own when booking, and the cabins are considered a “moderate” resort.
At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground you will find trails, two pools and entertainment and activities of all kinds! This resort is unique as you won’t find any other resort like it at Disney. The resort opened on November 19, 1971. It consists of both campsites and cabins for guests to enjoy.

Feature Pool Closure
The Fort’s feature pool, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, closed for a lengthy refurbishment this year. It closed January 17th and was stated that it would not reopen until sometime in early April. There was no official opening date listed.

Meadow Swimming’ Pool Now Open
The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool is open today, April 3. Unfortunately, the children’s splash pad play area that is pictured above remains closed at this time. We are not sure when the splash area will reopen. Fingers crossed it will be soon!
The Meadow Swimmin’ pool is open as of today, April 3rd. The children’s splash pad play area remains closed at this time.
This is exciting news for campers! During the refurbishment, campers were only able to use the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool located near the cabins. This pool is much smaller and does not have a water slide. One thing is for sure, there will be many happy campers today!
