Starting today, all guests can finally enjoy this newly opened location. Will you be visiting?
Changes in Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is looking a bit different these days. Over in Frontierland, crews are hard at work transforming Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In Tomorrowland, after years of work, TRON Lightcycle Power/Run finally opened to guests yesterday.
Check out all that you need to know about TRON before your next visit to Magic Kingdom HERE.
The addition of TRON Power/Run in Tomorrowland created a few extended closures to Magic Kingdom. This included the extended closure for the Walt Disney World Railroad as a new train tunnel had to be created under the TRON attraction.
To make way for the TRON Lightcycle Run attraction, the Tomorrowland Power & Light Company store closed back in August 2022 for several reasons.
First, Tron’s exit actually will run into this gift shop just like Space Mountain does. Second, the area next to the gift shop will be the entrance to Tron. The walkway will squeeze between Tomorrowland Light and Power and the Tomorrowland Speedway attraction.
Now Open to All Guests
Users who venture into the Grid will find three merchandise collections, related to the attraction experience, the film “TRON: Legacy” or the nostalgia around this digital world first introduced in 1982 with the release of the original “TRON.”
You can see a first look at the merchandise coming to the newly imagined Tomorrowland Launch Depot (previously Tomorrowland Power & Light Store) HERE. There will also be a pop-up store in the previous Stitch attraction location.
The Tomorrowland Launch Depot was set to reopen on April 4th. This will be the location for guests to customize and create their own TRON Identity Program. Guests with reservations for this experience were disappointed that was delayed.
Guests with reservations received a gift card for the price of the experience and were allowed to be the first guests in this newly reopened store. All other Magic Kingdom guests were diverted to the pop-up location.
Today, Tomorrowland Launch Depot is open to all guests for the first time in several months. This will help the exit flow from Space Mountain while also allowing guests to check out the new changes to this space.
