We now have our first look at Disney 100 decorations added to Walt Disney World. Many guests are a bit divided on this new look.
Disney 100 Years of Wonder
Disney 100 Years of Wonder will be the largest cross-company global celebration in the 100-year history of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Parks around the world will celebrate the 100th anniversary, with the heart of the celebration at Disneyland Resort.
At the start of Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder Celebration, Disneyland unveiled beautiful platinum and purple decorations throughout the Park. This included beautiful decorations adorning Sleeping Beauty Castle, celebratory banners, and of course platinum statues of our favorite classic characters.
Disney 100 at Walt Disney World
The first Disney 100 Years of Wonder sighting was at EPCOT when we spotted the Disney 100 popcorn bucket featuring Walt Disney World. Guests can now bring home 100 Years of Wonder collectible medallions and a 100 Years of Wonder refillable souvenir cup.
As Walt Disney World now begins to take down the 50th Anniversary decorations, more Disney 100 can be seen throughout Walt Disney World. As guests first approach Magic Kingdom, they will be welcomed with a new platinum 100 in honor of the 100 Years of Wonder.
Below is a photo of the new entrance. After the vibrant decorations of the 50th at this entrance, this does not seem quite as magical.
Over at the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom, the large Cinderella Castle has been removed. This is now replaced with the Disney 100 similar to the entrance sign. Many Walt Disney World guests anticipated the 100 Years of Wonder celebration, but so far we are still waiting for the wonder.
What do you think of this new entrance to the Magic Kingdom? Do you think this is lacking in comparison to the 50th Anniversary decorations? Did you hope there would be more celebrations at Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us in the comments and share this new look with a Disney pal.
