Guests visiting Magic Kingdom will notice a new look along Main Street, USA. What do you think of this change?
End of the 50th Anniversary
As many Disney fans are aware, Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations came to an end. At the stroke of midnight on April 1, it was as if the magic of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” officially ended. Just like Cinderella in her pumpkin carriage, everything turned back to how it was before.
You can see the plans for the park icons HERE, plans for the 50th Golden statues HERE, and the new digital map images HERE. Even an Annual Passholder extra is gone.
With the end of the 50th anniversary, many changes have also taken place throughout Walt Disney World in removing decorative elements. Recently, we shared the first Disney 100 Years of Wonder decoration added to the Magic Kingdom.
Refurbishment Along Main Street
There is nothing quite like walking right down the middle of Main Street, USA. The idyllic store fronts, the flags waving, and of course the beautiful Cinderella Castle before you. It doesn’t get much better than this view.
During the 50th Anniversary celebration, the Citizen Clock on Main Street, USA received a golden refurbishment. Many guests wondered if this may be a permanent change or a temporary overlay for this 18-month celebration.
Recently, guests visiting Magic Kingdom noticed that the Citizen Clock is now returned to its former glory. I (Donna) know that my family often took pictures in front of this clock as we first started our down in the Magic Kingdom and also at the end of the day. It served as a fun time stop for our day in the Park.
What do you think of this refurbishment? Do you like the return to its former glory or did you prefer the golden overlay for the 50th anniversary? Do you like to take photos in front of the Citizen clock to document your day at Magic Kingdom as well? Share your thoughts in the comments and share with a friend.
