Breaking: Disney World’s brand new roller coaster is DOWN

Disney’s brand new roller coaster is less than one month old, but that does not mean it is immune from issues.

TRON is a coaster like none other in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This attraction is so different than other attractions, so be sure to check out everything that you need to know about riding TRON HERE.

Because Tron utilizes a virtual queue and the Individual Lightning Lane, it is impossible to just get in a standby line and ride this attraction. The demand for this attraction is so high the virtual queue fills up almost immediately and the Lightning Lane purchases also sell out pretty quickly. In fact, on many days offsite guests are not even able to purchase it!

Fortunately, it is getting a bit easier in terms of being able to get a boarding group or a Lightning Lane for TRON. However, that won’t do you much good if the ride is closed.

Temporarily Closed

TRON is currently closed this morning, April 18. The ride was up and running with the start of Magic Kingdom, but at around 10:30 am the ride changed status to temporarily closed.

A loud speaker announcement told us that there is no estimated time for when the attraction will change status to open. Guests are given the option to stay and wait it out or leave.

Cast Members tell Guests if they choose to leave they will not get an Anytime Experience to use when the ride reopens. This is usually not the case for most attractions at Disney World. However, because this ride is so new and so popular Disney may be more strict when the ride closes.

TRON is currently experiencing downtime with no estimated reopening time yet.
