Since 1980, Disney has partnered with Make-A-Wish. Every part of The Walt Disney Company helps Make-A-Wish grant life-changing wishes: theme parks, Disney stores, and television and movie studios.

The foundation continues to make a lasting impact on children and their families. Last summer, Disney Cruise Line played a part by having Make-A-Wish children honored as godchildren of the Disney Wish.

Earlier this year, Josh D’Amaro took on a new role in helping make wishes come true.  Make-A-Wish announced that the Chairman of Disney Parks has been appointed to the National Board of Directors along with Scooter Braun, CEO and Board member of HYBE America.

Disney Parks around the world celebrated “World Wish Day” this past Saturday in the best way possible. They partnered to reach a new milestone with 150,000 wishes granted.

This morning on Good Morning America, we can see how each Disney Park celebrated this great milestone. At Disneyland Paris, 89 Make-A-Wish kids joined the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3. They were invited to walk the orange carpet among the film’s stars.

At Disneyland, three windows on Main Street were dedicated to “The Wish Kids of the World.” D’Amaro shares that these windows will serve as a reminder for Make-A-Wish kids visiting the parks that, “We celebrate you. We honor you. We are so fortunate to spend time with you and your families.”

Disney is now the biggest wish granter for Make-A-Wish children.

Meanwhile, at Walt Disney World, 16-year-old Mikayla was granted the 150,000th wish. She was honored as the grand marshall of the Festival of Fantasy Parade. She and her family were invited to stay in Cinderella Castle, and later this year she will have an opportunity to perform on stage.

What do you think about this BIG milestone? Do you know a child who has received a Make-A-Wish trip to the Disney Parks? Be sure to share this great milestone with a fellow Disney pal.
