Guests were just evacuated off a Disney World attraction. See the video here.
Evacuations
While the majority of operations run smoothly at Disney World, there are times when things don’t always go as planned. Evacuations, malfunctions, and more can really impact the day-to-day runnings of the parks.
Just earlier this week, we saw what happens when someone tries to take matters in their own hands during an evacuation on Space Mountain. It’s important to stay calm and wait for Cast Member instructions in these situations.

Liberty Square Riverboat
On the Liberty Square Riverboat, guests can “Steam into American history aboard the majestic, Colonial-era Liberty Belle riverboat and enjoy a relaxing half-mile tour around Tom Sawyer Island. Along the way, listen to a recorded narrator—in the voice of iconic American author and humorist Mark Twain—sharing memories of Twain’s time on the Mississippi.
It’s full steam ahead on this historic, nostalgic trip back to the past!”
Along the way, guests can see a rare side of the Magic Kingdom, including:
- An early American settlement
- An idyllic Native American village
- Harper’s Mill
- Fort Langhorn
- Wilson’s Cave Inn
- Woodland animals
You can also see some pretty cool views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, and Haunted Mansion.
Guests Evacuated Off
The Liberty Square Riverboat ran into some technical or mechanical problems this afternoon, May 6. It appears the incident took place shortly after 2:30 pm in Liberty Square.
Cast Members brought one of the log boats from Tom Sawyer Island and began evacuating Guests off the riverboat. At just before 4:30 pm, the riverboat looks to have reopened. We are happy to hear the issue was resolved quickly and Guests are allowed back on.
