Today has been a BIG Disney news day! Disney has made some big changes for these Guests that may change the way you visit Disney theme parks.
No Reservations For Date Based Tickets and MORE!
Starting with park visits on Jan. 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. You heard that right! When getting your ticket, you will simply select a start date for Jan. 9, 2024 or later, complete your purchase and then you will be all set!
But there is even more great news! Disney is bringing back their famous Dining Plan. I (Heather) loved using the dining plan. It always felt like we had an “all inclusive” vacation and didn’t have to worry about extras.
Be sure to read HERE for all the details about theme park reservations and the Disney Dining Plan returning.
Changes coming to Genie+
Disney has heard us! They know that we want some pre-planning like we were used to with the FastPass+ system. Personally, I liked having somewhat of a plan before entering the park. I am excited to see what Disney will be doing to change this.

Good to Go Days
Where does that leave Annual Passholders and Cast Members? Well don’t worry, folks, because Disney has not forgotten us!
Yes, we will still need to use the Theme Park Reservation System but not all the time! Luckily we will have some days that will be called “Good-to-Go Days.”
In 2024, Disney plans to offer select days that Annual Passholders and Cast Members may visit Walt Disney World theme parks without a park reservation. It is important to note that this is in addition to the 2:00 p.m. rule that is already in effect and will be in place of Bonus Park reservations that are currently offered.
Good-to-go days will vary by park and will be in addition to the 2:00 p.m. update. These “good-to-go” days will be in place of the current Bonus park reservation days.
Disney states, “Once introduced, we will roll out these good-to-go-days on an ongoing basis. This will be in addition to the recent update which offers Passholders the opportunity to visit the theme parks after 2:00 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Good-to-go days vary by park, and pass block out dates and capacity limitations continue to apply like they do today. Please stay tuned for more details on good-to-go days.”
There is no exact date on when these “Good-to-go days” will begin in 2024, but you can be sure we will keep you in the know!
What do you think of these “good-to-go days?” Will you be able to use them? Let us know in the comments below and share this post with a friend!
