Disney is building its first-ever Frozen roller coaster. Here is a peek at the progress and what it will be like.
Frozen
Can you believe that it’s been nearly 10 years since Frozen took the world by storm? It’s true! This fall marks Walt Disney Animation Studios’ smash hit film’s 10th anniversary.
It seems strange to think it has been so long since Frozen Fever swept the country. And while the fever has cooled, the movie and its sequel remain popular. In fact, Disney has promised fans another sequel.
Frozen Roller Coaster
What better time for Disney to show off its new Frozen roller coaster? That’s right. For the first time in forever, Disney Parks will see a roller coaster come to life featuring characters from the hit franchise.
This roller coaster is called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleigh. The idea behind the coaster’s ride vehicles is that Olaf and Sven are pulling them while Guests ride. Olaf dangles a carrot (his nose) to encourage Sven to ascend the lift hill and navigate all that is to come as Guests take a scenic ride through Arendelle.
The construction is definitely taking shape nicely. It looks like it will be a fun ride for the whole family to enjoy.
When Can Guests Ride?
Although a specific date hasn’t been announced yet, we do know that this coaster is set to open in the latter part of 2023. It is going to be part of Arendelle: The World of Frozen. This ambitious expansion has been in the works in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as part of a multi-year expansion.
Better yet, Frozen is coming to other parks around the globe as well including Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland Resort.
Do you know someone who will be excited to see the progress on this coaster? Be sure to pass this along. Would you ride Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleigh? Let us know in the comments!
