We all want to feel safe and secure when doing anything with Disney. Disney has now reinstated this security measure.
Disney Vacation Club
DVC is short for Disney Vacation Club. It is a timeshare run by Disney. Unlike other timeshares, DVC has the flexibility of a point system. Check out all the ins and outs of it HERE.
Members used to have a physical Membership card. ALL physical cards expired on December 31, 2021. When DVC shared this news, all they told DVC Members was that the cards would be DIGITAL.
Most Members have now uploaded their card onto their phones, but if you haven’t click HERE for a step by step guide on how to do it.
Changes and Return to Original Login
In November of 2022, DVC Members were notified that a two-step verification process would go live on November 16, 2022. Members would receive an access code through their email address or mobile phone number. This was the only Disney website to make this change across the Disney platforms. You can read the entire email sent to Members HERE.
Soon after this change, Members reported not being able to gain access to their accounts. Disney Vacation Club quickly removed the two-step verification process so its Members could regain access.
Another email (read HERE) was sent stating the two-step verification process would return in the upcoming months.
Two-step Identification to go LIVE again
Members received another email. This time they have shared the enhancements that will protect each Member’s online security. See the email below:
As we previously shared, over the last several months our teams have been working on a series of website enhancements to further protect our Members’ online security. We wanted to provide an update on our progress.
Beginning on May 24, Disney Vacation Club will implement a two-factor verification process exclusively for Members accessing their loan information on DisneyVacationClub.com. In addition to a strong password, two-factor verification adds an extra layer of further protection and reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
When Members visit the loans page of the Membership site, they will be prompted to verify their identity via an access code that will be sent to the email address, or the mobile phone number, associated with their Disney OneID account. Disney OneID is the account that is used across all Disney platforms. In order to receive the code, Members will need to have access to the email account or mobile phone with a U.S. area code listed in their Disney OneID account. Members should verify their email address and phone number are up to date in their Disney OneID profile prior to May 24 by clicking on the “My DVC” menu, then clicking on “My Profile” on the drop-down menu and selecting “Account Settings” located in the middle of the website page.
Additionally, as part of this system update, Members who need to reset their password will be directed to call Member Services at 800-800-9800 to initiate the password reset process and will no longer be able to reset online through self-service tools.
The two-factor verification process will begin on May 24, 2023. This will be when Members are accessing their loan information. The verification code will be sent to the email address or the mobile phone number associated with Disney OneID.
This new process will begin on May 24, 2023 and will only be when Members are accessing their loan information. Be sure to that your contact information is up to date prior to May 24th for your Disney OneID.
After May 24, 2023 Members WILL HAVE TO contact Member Services by phone to reset their passwords. Members WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO RESET PASSWORDS ONLINE.
