Although many guests are still skeptical of the Disney Genie+ system, it appears that this is here to stay.  With the purchase of Disney Genie+, guests can make Lightning Lane selections to allow them to bypass the traditional queue lines.

Over the past year, Disney has made many changes for Disney Genie. Some were welcome and some were not as welcome, especially with the introduction of variable pricing.

Earlier this month, Disney shared that they will make even greater modifications to Disney Genie+. This is welcome news to many who still miss the ease of advanced planning with the former FastPass+ system.

New testing is now taking place at Magic Kingdom for Disney Genie+.  Guests with a Lightning Lane can tap the touch points with their MagicBand or their Magic Mobile.  Previously these touch points were located right at the entrance gates for Haunted Mansion.

At times, the Lightning Lane was quite staggering for this attraction and stretched out longer than the stretching room inside the attraction.

Now Disney is testing temporary touchpoints that allow guests to access the Lightning Lane for this attraction a little further back.  The original touch points are now covered.

No official news has been announced for this testing. It will be interesting to see if additional changes may be made to the touch points of other attractions as well.  This could help with traffic flow for guests with Lightning Lane return times.

There are new temporary touchpoints for Lightning Lane entrances at Haunted Mansion.

What do you think of the testing?  Do you think this may help with crowd control for the Lightning Lane entrances?  Do you like Disney Genie+ or do you think it is a waste of money?  Share your thoughts with us in the comments and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.
