We can’t say we didn’t see this coming.
Virtual Waiting Rooms
When the Disney website experiences higher volumes of guests, a virtual waiting room is usually in place. This is basically a “spot holder” that puts you in line to enter the actual webpage you are trying to access. It helps keep the process running smoothly for those who are actively on the webpage.
This virtual waiting room has been utilized for runDisney, shopDisney, and of course the Walt Disney World website. Once you join this virtual waiting room it is very important to resist the urge to refresh your page. Doing so will place you at the back of the line. Simply keep the page open without refreshing.
2024 Packages
Today is the first day Guests can book 2024 packages. Since Disney got rid of 499-day room only reservations, anyone trying to book anything for 2024 can do so beginning today.
With the return of the Disney Dining Plan in 2024, these packages are a hot commodity. Many who are trying to secure popular resorts on busy dates understandably want to get their vacation booked. Others just fret about making sure they can secure their dates.
Because of this, a waiting room is currently in place. Read all about the dining plan HERE.
This is where frustration comes in
Attempting to get in at 6:00 am, the virtual waiting room said it was calculating my wait time. The page stayed like that until approximately 6:45 am when I finally got an approximate wait time of “more than an hour.”
I have no idea if that’s one hour and 10 minutes or 7 hours and 45 minutes. Realistically, it is probably somewhere in the 1-2 hour range, but until it gets below that 1 hour mark I do not have an accurate wait time.
We have some more important tips for booking 2024 packages with the Dining Plan in this post.
