Demand is too great for the Disney World website.

Today is the first day Guests can book 2024 packages. Since Disney got rid of 499-day room only reservations, anyone trying to book anything for 2024 can do so beginning today.

With the return of the Disney Dining Plan in 2024, these packages are a hot commodity. Many who are trying to secure popular resorts on busy dates understandably want to get their vacation booked. Others just fret about making sure they can secure their dates.

Because of this, a waiting room is currently in place. When the Disney website experiences higher volumes of guests, a virtual waiting room is usually in place. This is basically a “spot holder” that puts you in line to enter the actual webpage you are trying to access. It helps keep the process running smoothly for those who are actively on the webpage.

Waiting Room Drama

Because there is a waiting room being utilized, this creates a lot of frustration for Guests. My waiting time went from “recalculating” to “an hour or more” and back to “recalculating.”

But now a new message just popped up: “We have currently paused online bookings and will resume as soon as possible. Reminder: to retain your place in the waiting room, please don’t refresh the page or select the back button.”

Disney paused new online bookings as of 7:20 am ET!

We are unsure when they will resume new bookings. It could be several minutes or several hours. DO NOT REFRESH OR GO BACK! It is clear the demand for 2024 packages is great!
