Bonus park passes seem a little unnecessary these days.
Limit on Park Passes
Annual Passes are a great benefit to many Guests who visit the Disney Parks regularly. However, Annual Passholders have a finite number of Park Reservations that they can secure without a hotel reservation.
Let’s look at how many Park Reservations are available for each Annual Passholder Tier:
- Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
- Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
- Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations at a time
- Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations at a time
Bonus Park Passes
Disney will occasionally add bonus reservations for Annual Passholders! They do not count against your total number allowed. These seem more and more common these days.
For the entire month of June, Annual Passholders can book Animal Kingdom and Epcot park passes. They will NOT count towards the number of passes allocated per pass type.
For the entire month of June, Annual Passholders can enjoy unlimited visits to Animal Kingdom and Epcot.
Is it necessary though?
You may remember Disney now allows Annual Passholders to enter any park after 2:00 pm except Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays without a park pass. This gives Passholders much more freedom in planning spur-of-the-moment visits.
However, Disney is also moving away from the park pass system more and more. Beginning in January of 2024, any Guest who has a date-based ticket will not even need to make park pass reservations!
So, why even offer Disney’s most loyal Guests passes for parks that rarely sell out anyway? Why not just do away with park passes altogether for Passholders?
