Discovery Island Trails
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is full of wonder to discover. Unfortunately, Guests visiting Animal Kingdom might be so focused on getting to headliners such as Avatar: Flight of Passage or Expedition Everest that they miss out on some of the best treasures the parks have to offer.
Some of the most commonly overlooked delights lie along Discovery Island Trails. People do not even realize that the trails are there. However, during your visit, you can stroll tranquil pathways around the Tree of Life and discover a lush landscape brimming with wildlife!
And, now, some of Disney’s MOST beloved wildlife is back for Guests to enjoy during their time.
A Happy Return
The Asian Small-Clawed Otters are back in the grotto on Discovery Island Trails. Guests may have noticed that the typically lively and jovial habitat has stood empty recently. But now the grotto is filled with playful otters once more.
Asian small-clawed otters are the smallest of all otters. However, these little creatures can bring huge amounts of joy to those who encounter them.
It is such fun to see them play in their habitat both on land and in the water. Guests can catch glimpses of them under the water thanks to the habitat’s clever design.
The Otters are supported by none other than Otterbox! They are part of Disney’s Conservation Effort along with the other species of animals in the park.
While you are visiting Discovery Island, be on the lookout for other amazing animal species including:
- White Stork
- Red Kangaroo
- West African Crowned Crane
- African Crested Porcupine
- Galapagos Tortoise
- Lesser Flamingo
- Macaw
- Ring-Tailed Lemur
- Saddle-Billed Stork
