Disney parks have always been synonymous with enchantment and wonder, and one of its most beloved areas, Toontown, recently received a magical makeover. Bursting with color, charm, and beloved characters, the updated Toon Town is a whimsical paradise that promises endless fun for the entire family.

Toontown’s refreshed aesthetic captures the imagination with its vibrant colors and larger-than-life structures. The cartoon-inspired architecture remains true to its original charm but with enhanced details and a fresh coat of paint. Every corner is a visual treat, from the whacky buildings to the winding streets, making you feel like you’ve stepped right into an animated world.

Character Meet and Greets

Meeting beloved Disney characters is always a highlight of any Disneyland visit, and Toontown now offers even more opportunities for enchanting encounters. From Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s charming houses to Goofy’s Playhouse and Donald’s Boat, you’ll find yourself immersed with your favorite characters. The updated character interactions and themed photo spots provide countless memories to treasure.

For the first time at Disneyland Park, Pete is the newest popular meet and greet. He can be found roaming around Toontown periodically throughout the day. Be sure to check the Disneyland app or chat with a Cast Member for the most up to date information on how to find Pete. He does not have a dedicated meet and greet location so be on the lookout when visiting the area.

Playful Attractions

Toontown is brimming with delightful attractions that cater to both the young and the young at heart. The classic Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is still a crowd favorite, where you’ll spin and whirl through an immersive journey alongside Roger Rabbit. For little ones, Gadget’s Go Coaster provides a thrilling mini roller coaster experience.

The addition of new attractions, such as Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Treehouse and Donald’s Boat Water Play Area and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway further enhances the attraction options in Toontown.

Although Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s houses have remained the same, play areas like Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard and Donald’s Duck Pond are new. They each offer several interactive features like pulleys, slides and jets that shoot water out of the ground. My daughter had a blast going down the slides and going across the interactive bridge that makes different silly noises.

Dining and Shopping

Toontown also includes two delightful dining options that are perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Food options inside the newly renovated Toontown have also been reimagined. Good Boy Grocers is a Pluto-themed roadside stand offering grab-and-go snacks and drinks. It replaces the former Goofy’s Gas Station which offered the same fare in a relatively similar setup. Cute themed sipper cups and popcorn buckets can be purchased at this location.

To the right of Good Boy Grocers is the rethemed Café Daisy. This quick service location was formerly a similar quick service restaurant named Daisy’s Diner serving similar fare. To the right of Café Daisy is the mobile order pick-up window for the restaurant, formerly Pluto’s Dog House. Clarabelle’s ice cream location has been removed entirely.

No Disneyland trip is complete without a visit to the gift shops, and Toontown offers a variety of stores where you can find unique merchandise and souvenirs. Whether you’re looking for Mickey ears, plush toys, or apparel featuring your favorite characters, EngineEar Souvenirs has you covered. It is located at the exit of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction.

Accessibility Around the Area

The interactive areas of the park are completely curb-free for guests in wheelchairs and strollers. Different height considerations were taken into account when designing interactive features. An example of this is the CenTOONial Park Fountain located in the center of Toontown.

Quiet zones and tactile experiences are designed for children with sensory needs. The slides include expandable dismount benches at the bottom.

In the summertime when the blazing hot is shining upon guests at Disneyland, it can sometimes be difficult to find a nice and shady area for all to enjoy. The newly renovated Toontown is now home to many natural trees, artificial turf greenspaces, benches and a very shady enclave at the back of the land. This designated quiet zone blocks out quite a lot of noise and is perfect for kids to relax alongside with their parents!
