Disney has made some major changes to their upcoming release schedule for their film franchises. What do you think of all of these new changes?
Movie Entertainment
It’s no secret that the Walt Disney Studios is involved in a number of movie franchises. They not only have Walt Disney World animation, but are also teamed with Pixar, Lucas Films, Marvel Studios and 20th Century Studios. The list goes on and on, but there are too many to list here!
With all of these partnerships come a ton of films and entertainment that we are all very familiar with. Movies such as Star Wars, Marvel and Avatar are just a few of the major films. Today, a new Disney/Pixar film entitled eLio was announced!
Avatar
Avatar: The Way of Water has already been released. It had a pretty impressive opening. There is no denying it. People love Avatar and cannot get enough! Due to the film’s impressive popularity, more Avatar movies are in the works.
Fans of Avatar have Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 (and yes, Avatar 5) to look forward to. However, there are some major moves. Avatar 3 has been pushed from Dec. 2024 to Dec. 2025. Avatar 4 is now set to be released in 2029 and we can expect Avatar 5 to be released in 2031.
Today, Disney announced major changes to their release lineup, which impact many upcoming films, including Avatar, Marvel and announced a new Star Wars film.
Marvel Studios
Marvel Studios also has some major changes in their upcoming release dates. The following changes were announced today:
- Captain America: Brave New World: Aug. 26, 2024 (was May 3, 2024)
- Fantastic Four: May 2, 2025 (was Feb. 14, 2025)
- Avengers: Kang Dynasty May 1, 2026 (was May 2, 2025)
- Avengers: Secret Wars: May 7, 2027 (was May 1, 2026)
Star Wars and other Projects
Among the many changes of release dates for both Avatar and Marvel Studios, also came a release date for an untitled Star Wars film. If you thought we were finished with new Star Wars movies coming out, you were wrong!
It will be a new Star Wars film and the film is set to be released on December 18, 2026. Other changes to untitled films were also announced. There are a TON. Take a look.
We can expect Moana to be released in June 2025. Also among the many titles included are Thunderbolts, Blade and an untitled Deadpool movie expected to be released in May 2024. Keep in mind all of these dates are still tentative and can change at any time.
