Disney just announced the release date for its upcoming Live-Action Moana remake film.
Moana’s Story
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped, and no one knows why.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana is about an adventurous teenager who, with help from demigod Maui, sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people.
Live-Action Remake
Recently, Dwyane Johnson shared incredible Moana news. From the beaches of Hawaii, Johnson shared that Disney will release a Moana live-action remake.
This live-action Moana film will be produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions. In addition, Jared Bush, 2016 screenplay writer, is involved in this new project.
In the upcoming live-action Moana remake Auli’i Cravalho will be an executive producer instead of playing Moana.
Also, Thomas Kail has been announced as the director for the live-action version of Moana! Of course, he is renowned for his work with Lin-Manuel Miranda directing both Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of the musical sensation Hamilton.
He also directed the stage adaptation of Hamilton filmed and released for Disney+ that so many fans have streamed on repeat.
