The Annecy International Animated Film Festival
The Annecy International Animated Film Festival has established itself as the world’s largest event dedicated to animation. It brings together the most esteemed professionals from the sector to celebrate animation!
This year, Disney shared some big news at the festival! Take a look and see all the cool new animated original content, series and shorts coming soon.
Returning Series
“The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” follows the adventures and misadventures of newly 14-year-old Penny Proud and her Proud Family as they navigate modern life with hilarity and heart.
Disney confirmed a 3rd season for “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” is coming soon to Disney+.
“Kiff” is a nutty animated buddy-comedy about an optimistic squirrel Kiff and her chill bunny bestie Barry. The series follows Kiff and Barry as they navigate school, relationships and their often-eccentric community in Table Town. Be on the lookout for Season 2 of “Kiff” on Disney+.
In addition, it was announced that season 4 of “Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends” as well as season 3 of “Firebuds” and “Chip ‘n’ Dale Park Life” will be shown on Disney Channel.
Primos
Next, Disney announced an original new series. “Primos” introduces Tater Ramirez Humphrey, an eccentric girl with big dreams, determined to find what makes her extraordinary. This series is coming to Disney Channel and Disney+.
StuGo
“StuGo” is an original animated series about six middle schoolers who are tricked into attending a fake academic summer camp by a mad scientist. Now they’re stuck for three months on a wild tropical island with mind-reading manatees, giant fighting fungi and fashion-forward mutants.
Magicampers
Disney’s preschool new series features best buds Darly and Loomis at a day camp for magic creatures on a fantasy island. It’s a story of friendship for the young and young at heart that will be shown on Disney+.
The Doomies
“The Doomies” debuts in 2024 on Disney+. “When best friends Bobby and Romy open a gateway to another world, they turn their sleepy coastal town into a hotspot for creatures of doom.” This show is created with a graphic style.
Dragon Strikers
Also debuting in 2024 on Disney+, “Dragon Strikers” is coming. According to Disney, “Key can only dream of entering the school where the greatest players train before joining the big leagues, until he discovers he may be the legendary “Dragon Striker.”
Wonderful World of Songs
Another lively series for preschoolers is coming! Look for your favorite Disney pals and songs on “The Wonderful World of Songs” this summer on Disney Junior.
Mickey and the Sensational Six have their band instruments out to celebrate, but Donald has other ideas, and is determined to make this the ‘Donald Duck Club’ instead.
African Anthology Series
“Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire”, an Original anthology of short films developed by rising animation talent from 6 African nations. It debuts July 5 on Disney+.
Playdate with Winnie the Pooh
If you’re a Winnie the Pooh fan, you’ll love these new shorts. Premiering this summer on the Disney Channel, the musical shorts focus on young Pooh Bear enjoying playtime with his friends.
Sunnyridge 3
Check out the poster above for the new original comedy-mystery animated series “The Sunnyridge 3,” coming soon to Disney+. In this series, lifelong friends investigate strange happenings in a London shopping center.
Zombies
Fans can first catch the Seabrook crew in animated form in “ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Series Shorts,” premiering July 21, 2023. This new comedy-musical animated series, will premiere on Disney Channel, before showing on Disney+.
Steamboat Willie teams up with Mickey Mouse
“The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” spotlights the endearing, adventurous and comedic antics of Mickey Mouse and his best pals Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto.
“The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse: Steamboat Silly” premieres July 28 on Disney+.
The last installment of this hilarious series is coming to Disney+ soon. As a part of the Disney100 celebration, “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse: Steamboat Silly” premieres on July 28. On this adorable short, you’ll see Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie together!
