TRON is the newest ride at Walt Disney World Resort, and there are only two ways to ride it. Guests. can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane or join the Virtual Queue. Check out the newest change to the TRON boarding groups.
TRON
TRON is a coaster like none other in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This attraction is different than other attractions, so be sure to check out everything that you need to know about riding TRON HERE.
The ride officially opened on April 4, 2023. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to reserve a space for the attraction by joining the Virtual Queue. A standby queue will not be available. Each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.
Additionally, they can choose to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the ride. They will be able to skip the long standby queue in place for the virtual queue and instead use the Lightning Lane entrance.
No Estimated Wait Times
Soon after the ride opened, Disney quickly took away the estimated wait time for your boarding group return time. Read about that change HERE. Having no estimated wait time made it very hard for Guests to figure out when to arrive.
Once Disney took away the estimated wait, Guests would have to keep checking through phones to have any idea of when their boarding group would be called. This was extremely frustrating for Guests trying to plan their day as Disney is also very strict on when you can return for your boarding group.
A Welcome Change
Today, Guests that have joined the Virtual Queue for TRON can now see their estimated call back and wait in line! This is such good news! Guests can now make a better plan for their day when they have a boarding group.
Guests that have joined the Virtual Queue and received a boarding group for TRON can now see their estimated call back time!
I (Heather) am so glad to see this return and hope that it is here to stay!
