EPCOT’s Karamell-Küche has new treats for Guests to indulge in. Here is an honest review of them.
Karamell-Küche
If you are wandering through Germany in EPCOT’s World Showcase, you might come across the fragrance of sweet candy. If you follow your nose, you will find Karamell-Küche, Featuring Werther’s® Original® Caramel, cooking up sweets for you to enjoy.
The most popular of these treats is delicious caramel-covered popcorn. This is typically what has Guests lining up and grabbing mobile order slots. However, there are plenty of other treats including caramel apples, butter bars, and more!
A Trio of New Treats
Now, Karamell-Kuche has a trio of new treats. These include Werther’s Original Strawberry Caramel Butter Bar, Werther’s Cookie Dough Caramel, and Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich.
Disney is also offering Annual Passholders 20% off at Karamell-Kuche right now. So, what better time for me (Katie) to try the treats and report back to you, dear readers? Unfortunately, Karamell-Kuche was out of the strawberry caramel butter bar when I stopped by, so my family and I couldn’t try that one for you.
Werther’s Cookie Dough Caramel
The Werther’s Cookie Dough Caramel is $4.99, pre-discount. It is cookie dough topped with Werther’s Caramel and a chocolate drizzle. It sounds delightful.
And, it does taste good, too. It is decadent and rich, but a bit overly sweet. My party of four could not finish it because it was so rich and sweet. We could only enjoy a few bites at the time. If you love rich, super-sweet foods, this might be for you.
Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich
We also tried a Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich. I was so excited to try it because I love Snickerdoodles and cookie sandwiches. This is a HUGE cookie. Its undiscounted price is $6.99, which seems steep until you realize it is definitely sharable.
It is made from two Snickerdoodles. Sandwiched between them is Snickerdoodle icing and caramel.
This cookie was way too sweet for everyone in my travel party. We took most of it back to the room and cut off a bite or two every now and then. But it was honestly just too sugary sweet to really enjoy much of it. This is coming from a family that LOVES to enjoy Disney sweets.
If you really, and I mean REALLY love sugar, this is the ONE for you. But if you can’t take things that are overly sweet, skip it. Perhaps if it had a cream cheese frosting base instead of such a sweet one, it would have hit better.
Overall
I would not order either of these treats again. They were just too sweet for me. When I next visit Karamell-Küche, I will stick to the caramel popcorn.
Have you tried the new treats at Karamell-Küche? What did you think of them? Let us know in the comments. And, be sure to pass this along to your friends and family who are planning to visit EPCOT so they know what to eat and what to avoid.
