Disney’s Largest Animatronic Malfunctions As Guests Sail By

This isn’t quite the ending that most guests were hoping for.

It is not completely uncommon for attractions to experience malfunctions, breakdowns, or evacuations at Disney World. Technology is a wonderful thing when it’s working and a giant pain when it’s not. We are looking at you, Rise of the Resistance.

The Disney Parks utilize cutting-edge technology. At its best, guests are left mesmerized and feel immersed in their favorite stories. At its worst, rides temporarily close, and sometimes guests can see the malfunctions in person.

Na’vi River Journey

The Na’vi River Journey is one of the 2 attractions located in the land of Pandora inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The boat ride typically concludes with a view of Na’vi Shaman of Songs, an impressively life-like animatronic creation, performing the music of her world.

The figure is one of the most sophisticated animatronics Walt Disney World has to offer. That being said, this sophisticated animatronic has experienced more than a few malfunctions throughout the years. You can check out two from the past HERE and HERE.

One Tiktok user shared a video of the Shaman before her coffee hits:

This is probably not a good sign if the Shaman passes out. It appears that the head was completely back and not moving at all.

When this animatronic breaks down, guests experience the “B Mode” for this attraction. At the end of their journey, guests are greeted by a one-dimensional Shaman appearing on a screen.

Although this is not ideal, it is great that guests can enjoy this attraction even with an alternative ending.
