One of the best things about a Walt Disney World vacation can be where you are staying! There are so many properties to choose from. Not only do the resorts offer some fantastic theming that can add magic to your stay, but staying at a resort can also offer you many perks as well.

Guests at Disney World resorts can take advantage of amenities such as Housekeeping, Disney Bus Transportation, Complimentary Wi-Fi, Online Check-In, and much more. Disney World guests staying at Deluxe Resorts can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours at select parks and all guests can take advantage of Early Entry to the theme parks.

Unfortunately, refurbishments and construction are well underway at multiple Walt Disney World Resorts. Many times these changes are minimal and at other times can affect your trip significantly.

Guests staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian are noticing many effects of the refurbishment work now taking place in the grand lobby. This construction also impacts guests parking at the resort to enjoy dining reservations.

Now operational changes will also affect guests visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa. Starting on August 14 through mid-September Dinsey’s Grand Floridian Spa will offer modified operational hours. Work will take place Monday through Friday to replace the roofing from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.

After this work is completed for the morning, the spa will open from 12:30 pm until 7:00 pm Monday through Friday. Guests visiting on Saturday and Sunday can enjoy the spa from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.

Port Orleans offers many great enchanted experiences. Guests are invited to “Take in rustic beauty as you travel along charming pathways and the banks of the Sassagoula River” with a carriage ride.

The bridge between Magnolia Bend and Ol’ Man Island will now be unavailable on select dates. Starting today through July 21st and July 27th through July 28th this bridge will be closed from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. At 5:30 pm the bridge will reopen on these dates for carriage rides and pedestrians.

It is important to note that on July 24-26th this bridge will be closed to all guests. The bridge will remain open to all guests on the weekends. The good news is that carriage rides will still be available during this time but will be re-routed to Disney Port Orleans- French Quarter while this bridge is closed.

The bridge between Magnolia Bend and Ol’ Man Island will now be unavailable on select dates.

Has construction affected your Disney World vacations? What do you think of these closures and altered operational hours? Will this affect your next stay at Walt Disney World Resort? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.
