One of our favorite ways to get to the Magic Kingdom is by walking! Check out this new addition you will notice on the walkway from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom.
Walking around Disney World
You might be thinking, “Why would I want to walk when I could ride?” After all, if you have ever been to Disney World, you know how much walking you will be doing!
However, you may find you save a whole lot of time and annoyance by walking when possible rather than waiting for a bus, boat, Skyliner, or Monorail. For one thing, you do not have to wait to walk. You can just go when you are ready.
If you walk, you also don’t really have to worry about lines, crowds, delays, or breakdowns. So, it eliminates a bit of stress if you tend to be a worrier. Being able to walk gives you some measure of control over your travel to and from the parks.
Walking can also work out if you are traveling with a stroller or with guests who use a scooter or wheelchair. It can be much easier to just head to the parks on foot with your family members riding along with you than it is to load and unload strollers and ECVs.
Magic Kingdom/Contemporary Walkway
You can read more about the best resorts for walking in this post. One of our favorite walkways takes you from the Contemporary Resort to the Magic Kingdom in just a few short minutes.
Not only is it an efficient way to get to the world’s most popular theme park, but it’s a beautiful walk! You will catch glimpses of Space Mountain and TRON as you walk over.
An added benefit is this walkway has a private security entrance meaning you can skip the long wait at the park’s main entrance! On a recent visit, we noticed a cute addition to this walkway: Mickey faces! These appear painted/stamped and we noticed several of them all the way up to the security checkpoint.
Check out the photo of the adorable Mickey face above!
