What is happening at Disney World right now to cause so many attractions to close?

Several popular attractions are down in multiple parks and it’s more than weather. Take a look at which attractions aren’t operating here.

Let’s be honest; no one wants to encounter stormy weather while on vacation. There are great ways to beat the heat and still have a magical day at Disney, even if you encounter a few summer showers during your trip. Guests traveling to the “Sunshine State” can plan for summer showers.

Many times, outdoor attractions will close for rain and lightning. The time of the closure is largely based on the length of the storm and also the upcoming weather forecast as well. Earlier this month, we reported HERE that lightning affected multiple attractions.

Reason for Closures

Some of these rides are outdoors. Disney World’s current forecast is thunderstorms with lightning very close. So, understandably, outdoor attractions would close.

However, there is more going on than just that. Our sources report that there is a power outage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunset Boulevard that account for Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Lightning McQueen’s Academy being down. Many other indoor attractions are also closed without explanation.

There is a power outage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunset Boulevard causing rides to go down.

If you’re at a theme park when they call for lightning, please find an indoor area to wait it out if possible.

Hopefully, these attractions will be up and running soon. Have you had a closed attraction affect your touring plans? If so, how did you adapt? Please let us know in the comments below and share this post with a friend.
