Change is inevitable at Disney, but some of these are better than others. Here is what you need to know about this space being reimagined.
Disney Steakhouses
Do you love a good steak? If so, Disney has so many amazing choices. If you’re at EPCOT, you can enjoy Le Cellier at the Canada Pavilion or Chefs de France at the France Pavilion.
If you’re looking outside a theme park, check out the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. If you’re closer to Magic Kingdom, then the Steakhouse 71has amazing steaks too. Take a look at the top 5 Disney World steaks HERE.
Then, At Disneyland, be sure and try the Napa Rose signature restaurant inside Disney’s Grand Californian Resort.
Changes at Disney
While changes come regularly at any Disney location, we welcome some more than others. For instance, fans were upset when The Great Movie Ride changed at Disney’s Hollywood Adventure. I (Susan) was disappointed when the Wave restaurant closed at Disney’s Contemporary. And people are still divided over the Splash Mountain being re-themed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

However, change isn’t all bad. While I miss The Great Movie Ride and the Wave restaurant, I thoroughly enjoy both of their replacements. Change also brings park additions like the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion and EPCOT’s France Pavilion expansion.
Location Not Reopening
What makes some changes harder than others is the nostalgia attached to Disney’s original attractions, characters, and restaurants. An example of this is Disneyland’s Steakhouse 55 closing.
Steakhouse 55 was one of Disneyland’s signature dining locations and an original restaurant. The menu and theming were inspired by Old Hollywood. However, it closed it 2020 due to the pandemic.
When the Disneyland Hotel reopened in 2021, this location didn’t. Although fans of this popular dining spot have held onto hope it may reopen, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
What’s Coming?
Today, Disney announced that the former Steakhouse 55 restaurant is being converted into a flexible lounge space. They also stated that this space will sometimes be an extension of a seasonal bar. Work will begin today, including removal of the Steakhouse 55 sign.
