The way you make dining reservations is about to change in a BIG way. See the latest here!
Dining Reservations
Prior to the the closure of Walt Disney World, Guests could book advanced dining reservations at 180 days. That is a full 6 MONTHS in advance for your magical Walt Disney World vacation. This always seemed a bit daunting to us.
When Walt Disney World reopened their magical gates in July 2020 several things changed. One of these changes is the 60 day window to book advanced dining reservations.
You may still book dining reservations at 6 am Eastern Time. You can also call at 7 am Eastern Time. Calling may be necessary if you have a large group of people or if you are having difficulty getting a reservation. Be prepared to wait a while as wait times can be very long.
Some dining reservations are highly sought after (looking at you Space 220). Be sure to check out the full guide to scoring the most popular dining reservations HERE.
BIG Update
Disney is now making it a lot easier to secure your dining reservations. It will now be easier to find and book reservations for both Disney World and Disneyland.
You may recall that up until now you would have to search by time or by window (ie breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Now, when you click on a dining location you will be able to see ALL the available reservations instead of just the ones that fit in your timeframe.
In addition, reservation availability will be sorted by meal period. This allows you to see the menu for that particular meal, which can be helpful for times that teeter on the edge of two different timeframes.
Now, when you click on a dining location you will be able to see ALL the available reservations instead of just the ones that fit in your timeframe.
When will all this take place?
The changes are already live on Disneyland’s website as of 8 am Pacific Time. Hooray! In the coming days, the changes for Disney World’s website will take place. However, we do not have a specific time or day. Just be a little patient if things appear wonky!
Be sure to keep your apps up to date and note that the changes in the app may take a little bit longer. These will roll out in phases.
